Passiamo ora ad una piu' bella notizia. Nell'ambito della nuova finanziaria la Finlandia ha notevolmente abbassato la sua famigerata tassa sulle auto, rispetto al valore semi piatto di circa il 30% in piu' (!) sul prezzo di ogni nuova auto. Questa autovero (tassa sulle auto), e' stata finora una vera tragedia. Io ho dovuto pagare per una Fiat Punto nuova, modello un po' migliore rispetto a quello base, la bellezza d 16000€ (!). Le macchine piu' grosse, tipo BMW, possono (potevano) arrivare a costare fino a 20000€ in piu' (!) che in altri paesi civili. Questo ha causato il fatto che la Finlandia abbia il parco macchine piu' vecchio d'Europa, e quindi il meno pericoloso e il piu' inquinante, e il chi piu' ne ha piu' ne metta. C'e' una statistica a corroborare questi dati, credetemi. E se non mi credete, fatevi un giro dalle parti del paese di Babbo Natale e osservate con i vostri occhi. Persino in Estonia girano macchine piu' nuove!
Comunque, ora hanno portato questa tassa a un valore variabile dal 10 al 40% in base alle emissioni. Cioe', piu' inquini piu' ti tasso e viceversa. Il risultato e' che la gran parte delle macchine nuove calera' di prezzo dal 2008 quando la legge entrera' in vigore, come questa interessante tabella mostra. La mia Punto, se ancora fosse in produzione, costerebbe circa 1500€ in meno. Bene cosi', anche se e' pur sempre un'aggiunta al prezzo medio europeo... Certo, i possessori di una macchina se la vengono a ritrovare la' dove non sbatte il sole, visto che il calo improvviso delle macchine nuove causera' un calo dei prezzi delle macchine usate, ma pazienza...

Among the laws approved, they managed to reduce the ill-famed car tax, which so far has placed an additional average 30% price (!) on top of the price of every new car (and thus, for the transitive property, used ones as well) in Finland. For example, for a small Fiat Punto, you can pay as much as 16000€, about 4000€ than in Italy. If you move over better cars, like BMW, the difference can sum up to 15000€ (!) compared to other more "civil" nations. This tax has had the effect that Finland has the oldest cars in Europe. And thus, the least safe, and the most polluting ones. There's an official analysis about this, I can't find it now. Believe me. And if you don't, just come and take a look in Santa's land. Even in the poor neighbour Estonia there are better and newer cars...
Anyway, now they have brought the level of this tax to a value variable between 10 and 40%, depending on the emission level of the cars. The result is that most of the new cars will cost less than they currently do starting in 2008, as this interesting table shows. The same Fiat Punto would now cost about 1500€ less, while bigger cars decrease in the average too (don't buy a SUV!). This is a very good law, which punishes the big polluting cars. Still, the price is going to be higher than the average in Europe, as there's still an additional of at least 10%, but better than nothing. Sure enough, current car owners have now seen the value of their cars decreased all of a sudden, but you cannot have everything in the life, can you?
