Un eccellente review del Nokia N900 sul Corriere

E' bello vedere che il lavoro che e' stato duramente profuso in questi ultimi mesi e' apprezzato, ancor piu' quando e' apprezzato a casa propria.

Questo review del Corriere mi fa quasi venire le lacrime agli occhi. :)

Somebody please explain this to me/Ma è uno scherzo, vero?

At this age, you must have already heard of the crazy ideas to tax the fidelity miles point gained for business related trips as fringe benefit (!), but I simply remained shocked, stared at the screen blankly, when I read an article on the reform of taxation in Finland from HS, finnish edition (for once, no stealing of razors from supermarket:

I translate: the working group does not want to present all the deducttion removal proposals. For example, the biggest tax benefit, that is, the right to live for free in one's own house, will stay untouched, nor the advantage of free living (in one's own house, I remind) will be taxed.

"Normal people do not of course understand, that living in the own house/flat gives a sort of income, which should then be taxed", Mr. Hetemäki declares.

Now, I'm a normal person, albeit with a Master's and Doctor's degree, so I don't understand. My degrees don't help me here. Why in heart living in the house I bought constituse income, if I don't sell the house? Any help appreciated. Summary of the article, where this part is as well transalated, in english here. Luckily enough, Mr. Hetemäki, who is proposing such a wide cancelation of tax deduction in real estate sector, which, if implemented, would bring finnish market to a halt, IMO, is ashamed enough not to include this deduction in the list.

Brevemente in italiano: leggendo questo articolo, ho scoperto che in Finlandia costituisce fonte di reddito il semplice abitare in un'abitazione di proprietà, e che per bontà del ministro, i proprietari di casa non sono tassati per questo sedicente reddito. Se qualcuno ha una spiegazione razionale a questa logica invero pazza, e vai di citazione dotta (premio a chi indovina da dove, è facile) può illuminarmi?

Nokia N900: online as it happens

Hello all, I'm in the Stuttgart airport, at the gate of my flight back to Helsinki, tired but happy of the attentions and the positive feedback that my N900 has received. I'm happy also as finally I can tell the world about this device, for which I have given all myself.

I am the responsible of the development of all applications software that runs natively in N900. A big task, lots of responsibilities, which has requested my total committmwnt and dedication.

Here at the airport, I am writing this post from the N900, and I feel immense pride to do it, I feel immense pride that now the world has discovered the power and the beauty of this truly mobile true computer. I am typing from the browser, the same blogger page you have with your laptop. This is what I call internet everywhere. Needless to say, you can get plenty of blogging and sharing widgets here if you'd like so!

A long journey, full of technical and not difficulties but now it's (almost) over. N900 is there and soon all will be able to enjoy using this addictive toy. N900, YOU ROCK!

Ciao a tutti, sono qui all'aeroporto di Stoccarda, in attesa del mio volo per Helsinki, stanco ma felice del feedback positivo ricevuto dal Nokia N900. Sono felice anche perchè ora posso liberamente parlare di questo gioiello, a cui tanto ho dato.

Sono il responsabile del progetto che sviluppa tutte le applicazioni per l'N900, una grossa responsabilità, certo, che ha richiesto tutto il mio impegno e dedizione, ma tutto questo è ora stato ripagato. E provo un grande orgoglio ora, mentre scrivo questo post con l'N900 dall'aeroporto. Orgoglio che tutti hanno scoperto questo gioiellino, e che presto potranno averlo fra le loro mani. E che bello sarà vedere qualcuno con un N900 in mano e dire: quello l'ho fatto anch'io!
